Things That Go Bonk in the Night, the eighth episode of The Justice Friends, is the second segment of the twelfth episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on October 1, 1997.

In this episode, Krunk stays up late watching the T.V. Puppet Pals marathon. When he falls asleep, he has a dream where he meets Puppet Pals Clem and Mitch.

Plot[]

Krunk is up late watching the T.V. Puppet Pals. Major Glory tells Krunk that he watched the T.V. Puppet Pals marathon for four days. He and Valhallen both go roller-skating and asks Krunk to get some sleep. Krunk suddenly gets the idea of counting sheep.

Later, while Krunk is sleeping, a zebra in a peacoat roller-skates toward Krunk and has him jump into a portal where they go to the Puppet Pal Palace. In there, Krunk takes in the whimsical sights then sees Puppet Pals Clem and Mitch doing a show. They welcome Krunk by doing a bonk joke, causing Krunk to laugh uncontrollably. Despite Mitch telling him that the joke wasn't funny, Krunk doesn't relent on his laughter.

Krunk then stops laughing and tells Clem and Mitch that he wants to be a Puppet Pal too. They then act out a scene where Krunk puts a golf ball on Clem's head, to which Mitch, after delivering the punchline for his joke, hits with a golf club. While Krunk and Clem laugh, Mitch loses it and uses his bonk stick to hit Krunk on his head, shrinking him with each hit. Just then, hand puppets of Major Glory and Valhallen appear and battle Clem and Mitch while Krunk watches.

Suddenly, they stop fighting. Major Glory, after revealing that he was puppeteering Puppet Pal Mitch, tells Krunk that he tried to turn him against the T.V. Puppet Pals because he spent too much time watching TV rather than being a superhero. Another fight between Major Glory and Mitch embroils, causing Krunk to startle himself awake and realize it was just a dream until he sees the zebra sitting in a chair behind him.

Mitch, having startled himself awake from his dream, tells Clem that it is the last time they stay up watching the four-day Justice Friends marathon. Just as they go back to sleep, Mitch tells Clem that there's a spider in his bed. Clem quickly sits up and hits his head on the bottom of Mitch's bed, to which Mitch says; "Bonk!"
