Ratman, the fifth episode of The Justice Friends, is the second segment of the eleventh episode in season one of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on December 18, 1996.

In this episode, Krunk and Valhallen venture into their apartment's basement to find Ratman, a vigilante raised by rats.

Plot[]

While in their apartment's bathroom, Valhallen and Krunk are flushing various things down the toilet. After their TV gets flushed down the drain, the toilet suddenly starts overflowing and both Krunk and Valhallen start to blame each other, but are interrupted as Major Glory knocks on the door telling them that he's waiting to take a shower.

As Major Glory recites the Pledge of Allegiance, Krunk and Valhallen sneak out of the bathroom and head over to a trapdoor that leads to the the basement. While in there, they see a silhouette of a man in a bat costume and promptly run out of the basement screaming then crashing into Major Glory. After Valhallen tells Major Glory what happened, he goes with Krunk and Valhallen into the basement to find Ratman, a diminutive bespectacled man wearing a rat costume with bat wings, who introduces himself to the Justice Friends as they enter his "Rat Cave".

After introducing themselves, Ratman starts to explain his backstory to the Justice Friends. Following him and his parents watching the movie Ben, a rat came out of the sewers and scared Ratman's parents away, leaving him all alone. The rats took him in, trained him, then sent him to a vocational school. Once he inherited the rats' "vast fortune", he became known as Ratman. After the story, the generator starts to overload and the Justice Friends spring into action.

Valhallen fires several energy shots using his Ax, but gets sprayed with a blast of water. Krunk squeezes one of the pipes and is promptly sprayed with water as well. Major Glory leaps toward the generator and punches the frame, but gets blasted with steam. Ratman walks over to the generator with a wrench and tightens one of the bolts, causing the generator to stop overloading. He then resumes telling his origin story, but Major Glory interrupts and invites Ratman to join the Justice Friends. At first, Ratman is reluctant, but agrees.

Later, Major Glory, Valhallen, and Krunk all return to their apartment feeling completely exhausted. As they settle down on the couch to watch TV, the TV suddenly shorts out and they call for Ratman to come fix it. As Ratman fixes the TV, he rambles to himself while using a screwdriver.
