Surprise! is the second segment of the sixteenth episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on October 29, 1997.
In this episode, it's Dexter's birthday and he wants to get a Major Glory action figure. After Mom tells him not to "snoop in her closet", Dee Dee stands guard and gives Dexter the idea of turning himself invisible.
Plot[]
Dexter is having a dream where it was his birthday and he gets a brand-new Major Glory action figure. When Dexter wakes up, Mom gives him some Glory-Os then advises him not to go snooping around in her closet. Dexter then gets an idea and stealthily heads to Mom and Dad's bedroom to find his present, only to get interrupted by Dee Dee, who was tasked with keeping Dexter from finding his presents.
She then gave Dexter the idea of turning invisible, prompting him to go to his laboratory and use an invention to make him invisible.
Afterwards, Dexter returns to Mom and Dad's closet to look for his presents found in two boxes and a large bag, though none of them were what he expected. He then goes with Mom and Dad to the toy store at the city mall, where they buy Dexter several toys that he did not find interesting.
Back at home, Dexter's birthday party was underway while Dad was in the kitchen talking to Major Glory. As Dexter opened the present containing the Major Glory action figure, he ran around playing with it, scaring the kids.
Major Glory, mistaking Dexter for the Invisible Phantom, lunges at Dexter and punches him repeatedly as Dexter pleads Major Glory to stop and that it's really him.
