Rasslor, the second episode of Dial M for Monkey, is the second segment of the second episode in season one of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on May 5, 1996.
In this episode, Rasslor challenges every superhero on Earth to a game of wrestling, putting Earth's future on the line.
Intergalactic wrestling champion Rasslor comes to Earth looking for a new opponent, and challenges all of Earth's superheroes, if no one can beat him he will destroy the Earth. However, Rasslor refuses to wrestle Monkey due to his size.
This episode was a parody of Marvel Comics storyline of "The Champion of the Universe", in which The Champion challenges Earth's heroes (consisting of Namor, Doc Samson, Thor, Hulk, Wonder Man, Sasquatch, Colossus, and Thing) to a boxing match, rather than wrestling. Like Monkey, Thing refused to give up and earned The Champion's respect, thus sparing Earth from destruction.
This episode featured two unnamed Justice Friends who would never appear again. One of them was a bowman-themed hero who appeared to be a parody of DC's Green Arrow and Marvel's Hawkeye, and the one was an animal-themed hero who appeared to be a parody of Marvel's Wolverine and Beast.
Production Notes[]
This was one of the two episodes included on the VHS release of Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip, the second being The Justice Friends: Krunk's Date.
