Dexter the Barbarian is the first part of the 7th episode in season 4 of Dexter's Laboratory, which first aired on May 30, 2003.

Synopsis

Dexter mimics the barbarian hero in his comic book, titled Moran the Barbarian. However, his imagination takes control of him, leaving a huge mess in his wake.

Plot

Dexter is forging his sword in a blacksmith's workshop, and he adds the final touches. He leaves the place and starts his journey. While making his way through the foggy forest, Dexter encounters several shadows roaming the forst, and he hurries along the path. The creatures stop in front of him and draw their swords. With quick reflexes, Dexter tears through the creatures and continues along the path.

Much later, Dexter finds himself in a canyon-like area where he encounters a giant rock monster. He vigorously swings his sword at the villain, but it sends Dexter flying into a wall. With nowhere to run, Dexter picks up a nearby rock and throws it at him. The monster laughs, and gets buried by a rockslide. Just as Dexter sets off, he encounters dark werewolves and runs away from them, with the werewolves going after him. Dexter ends up back in the same canyon and starts scurrying up the cliffs, but the werewolves surround him. He pulls out his sword and gets ready to fight. Afterwards, Dexter continues on his journey with werewolf skin tied to his head. In the arctic region, Dexter rides a polar bear to an outhouse, but is stopped by a giant dragon. He jumps onto the dragon and pokes it with his sword, causing the dragon to run away crying. Dexter continues his way to the outhouse.

Outside Dexter's imagination, he sees that he destroyed a potted bamboo tree, a statue, made Dee Dee cry, shaved the fur off of the family dog, and leaving Dad with a serious back pain. Mom tells Dexter he's punished, but Dexter charges at her with his wrench.
