Dexter Is Dirty is the second segment of the fourteenth episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on October 15, 1997.

In this episode, Dexter constantly gets dirty while working in his laboratory. He creates an invention called the Laminatrix to laminate himself so he won't have to get dirty anymore. While the invention was a success, things become complicated for Dexter as he is unable to get a grip on things or move properly.

Plot[]

In Dexter's laboratory, he is pouring isotopes from test tubes into a flask. As the isotope turns green, the flask shakes and explodes, leaving Dexter a mess. He steps on a conveyor belt and is given a full-on cleaning. Later, as Dexter works on the exhaust pipe of a rocket, he notices he is dirty again and goes to jump inside a washing machine where he enters a spin cycle, then is flipped dry. Finally, as Dexter works on the Robo-Dexo 2000, he connects two loose wires and gets shocked.

Mom calls Dee Dee and Dexter to the kitchen for lunch. She notices that Dee Dee's hands are washed, but she orders Dexter to, despite his plea, go into the bathroom and wash up. After doing so, Dexter returns to the kitchen to find Mom doing the dishes. Angered, he goes to the living room to watch TV until Mom walks by and tells him it's time for a bath. He does so after Mom tells him not to argue with her. On the way, Dexter bumps into Dee Dee then storms into the bathroom where he takes his bath. Inside the bathroom, Dexter thinks of a way to prevent bathing forever, and Dee Dee teleports into the bathroom where she drops Dexter's laminated lab access card into the tub then teleports out. Dexter looks at the water sliding off the lab access card then gets an idea.

In his laboratory, Dexter uses the Laminatrix to laminate himself. Following a successful lamination, Dexter slides on the laboratory's floor and bumps into the Waste Spooge container, where he watches the waste slide down his hand and off his arm. Dexter then goes to work, but his lamination makes him unable to move, so he uses two large fans to blow him toward his work desk. Upon picking up the test tube and the flask, both of those slide out of Dexter's grip, fall to the floor, and shatter. To mitigate this, Dexter uses a set of metal pincers to pick up the test tubes, but the pincers slide out of his hands. Angered, Dexter tried to kick the pincers, but he ends up flipping into the air and landing on his back. Dee Dee suddenly appears, and Dexter has her help him stand up. Dee Dee does so, although she loses her grip on him because of his lamination.

Angered, Dexter berates Dee Dee, and while doing so, she mistakes Dexter for a toboggan and rides him out of the laboratory. In the hallway, Dee Dee releases her grip on Dexter and watches as he flies down the stairs and makes a mess of things by bouncing off the walls and destroying the furniture. Mom overhears the crash, but she notices how clean Dexter is and gives him a kiss, to which the kiss mark slides off him.
