Dee Dee Locks and the Ness Monster is the first part of the 5th episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory, which first aired on August 13, 1997. In this episode, Dexter reads a story to a sick Dee Dee. However, Dee Dee spins her own tale after she finds Dexter's story boring.
Dexter's mother asks him to read a story to Dee Dee, who is still sick Dexter refuses, not wishing to get sick himself. Unfortunately, Mom doesn't care and snarls at him to do it anyway. Dexter suits up in a protective suit to read to her, but Dee Dee unzips it to make him comfy. Despite his anger, Dexter reads after seeing his mother stand guard. However, Dee Dee becomes bored of Dexter's story and invents her own story, Dee Dee Locks and the Loch Ness Monster, which is a spoof of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. By the end, Dee Dee is feeling better, due to unknowingly transferring her cold to Dexter.
One of Dexter's stuffed animals is a smiling Krunk from The Justice Friends.
This is another episode when Dexter is not in his Lab.
Mom is highly illogical in this episode, uncaring of Dexter's own health by forcing him to be in close proximity to Dee Dee when she's sick.
Continuity
This episode is aired out of order, because Dee Dee is still sick. This is the continuation of the previous episode "Fantastic Boyage".
