Craig Douglas McCracken (born March 31, 1971 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania) is an animator, writer, storyboard artist, and director. He is best known for being the creator of The Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Wander Over Yonder, and the Netflix animated series Kid Cosmic.

Career[]

He began work for Hanna-Barbera in 1993 as an art director and storyboard artist for 2 Stupid Dogs. He joined Dexter's Laboratory as a director, art director, model designer, and storyboard artist in 1996 and continued work on the show until its finale in 2003. While working on Dexter's Laboratory, he created The Powerpuff Girls in 1998 and continued work on the show until 2002, when he left to create his second series, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends which aired from 2004 to 2009. He also an executive producer, developer, writer, director, and story editor for the show.

Aside from being the creator of the show, he was also an executive producer, writer, and director.

Craig McCracken married Lauren Faust on March 13, 2004. Faust worked with Craig on both The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust co-created Wander Over Yonder, which aired from 2013 to 2016.

Most recently, Craig McCracken created Kid Cosmic for Netflix. The series ran from 2021 to 2022.
