Christine Cavanaugh was an American voice actress, known for voicing Dexter from season 1 until the middle of season 3. She was sometimes credited as Chris Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh was born in Layton, Utah, USA in 1963. Other notable roles she had include Chuckie Finster on Rugrats, Babe, the Gallant Pig in Babe, Oblina in Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and Gosalyn Mallard in The Wattersons and Disney's Darkwing Duck. She also voiced Bunnie Rabbot in SatAM.
Ms. Cavanaugh retired from voice acting in 2001 for personal reasons. She was one of the most popular and in-demand voice actors of the 1990s. She continued voicing Gosalyn Mallard from 2005 until her death in 2014.
She passed away on December 22nd, 2014 at the age of 51.[1] After her death, in The Wattersons, Gosalyn Mallard became a non-speaking role and only used quack sounds instead of talking.
Dexter's Laboratory
Cavanaugh was one of the original voice actors on the show, playing the role of Dexter. She continued her role as the young scientist all the way until midway third season, when she retired from voice acting for personal reasons. She was then replaced by Candi Milo, which did not please many fans of the show.
