Christine Josephine Cavanaugh (August 16th, 1963 - December 22nd, 2014), sometimes credited as Chris Cavanaugh or Christina Cavanaugh, was an American voice actress, known for voicing Dexter from season 1 until the middle of season 3.

Biography[]

Cavanaugh was born in Layton, Utah, USA in 1963. Other notable roles she had include Chuckie Finster on Rugrats, Babe, the Gallant Pig in Babe, Oblina in Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and Gosalyn Mallard in Disney's Darkwing Duck. She also voiced Bunnie Rabbot in SatAM.

Ms. Cavanaugh retired from voice acting in 2001 for personal reasons. She was one of the most popular and in-demand voice actors of the 1990s.

Dexter's Laboratory[]

Cavanaugh was one of the original voice actors on the show, playing the role of Dexter. She continued her role as the young scientist all the way until midway third season, when she retired from voice acting for personal reasons. She was then replaced by Candi Milo, who voiced Dexter for the rest of season 3 and into season 4.

Death[]

Cavanaugh passed away at her home on December 22nd, 2014 at the age of 51.[1] Deionn Masock, Cavanaugh's sister, confirmed her death, though the cause of it was unknown.[2] The cause was eventually discovered as complications of leukemia.
