A Third Dad Cartoon is the second segment of the ninth episode in season 3 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on June 21, 2002.

Dad goes out golfing and takes the kids with him. He prepares to hit the ball with a good swing, but just as he's about to hit the golf ball, a huge thunderstorm moves in. Dad then decides to call it a day and takes the kids home.

  • This episode marks the second time where Dexter doesn't have any speaking roles. The first instance took place in the episode "A Silent Cartoon".
    • This is also Dee Dee's second episode that doesn't feature any speaking roles.
  • This episode is a reference to the Sports Cartoons animated shorts from 1985, aired on Nickelodeon in the late 1980s to the mid-1990s and on Cartoon Network in the late 1990s to the early 2000s (as part of their "Small World" programming block), in which characters would often take a very long time before making a move on such a sport.
