A Dad Cartoon is the second segment of the first episode in season 3 of Dexter's Laboratory. It originally aired on November 16, 2001 as a sneak peek, and later on November 18, 2001 as part of Cartoon Network's "Dexter Goes Global" marathon.

In this episode, Dad spends his Saturday afternoon fixing the family car, but ends up breaking more things in the process while doing so.

Dad heads out of the house and decides to clean the family car. He sprays the car using the garden hose, but instead washes the inside rather than the outside. Dad gets inside the car, rolls the window up, and dries off the water. He rolls the window back down too fast, but ends up breaking the roller off of its hinge. He tries to force the roller back into place, but he ends up breaking the entire door down as a result. Dad takes the car door and washes it with the hose.

Inside the car, Dad is using a shop-vac to clean the seats. While cleaning, he sees loose change and reaches for them, in addition to kicking the car into drive. The car rolls down a hill and crashes into a tree. The tree then falls on top of the car. Back in the front yard, Dad hoses down everything. In the car, he uses cleaning spray on the car radio, but a cassette tape pops out. A montage of him getting hurt is then shown. In frustration, Dad throws everything at the car, and forcefully pushes it down a hill. The car then lands on top of other cars similar to the one Dad just "fixed." Dad then enjoys his moment of pride.

  • This episode marks the debut of Dexter's newly designed house in the new animation style.
  • In this episode, the family car was blue. Prior to this, it was green.
  • Dexter, Dee Dee, and Mom do not make an appearance in this episode.
  • The cartoon has became a meme of sorts, with a Twitter Account and a Facebook Account posting the opening lines of the episode, every Saturday.
